Explore procedurally generated worlds, face hostile. The puzzle in the final dungeon was a neat concept too. Gatewalkers is a cooperative survival game with action RPG elements, where players travel across different worlds in order to save their own. 2/3 is a bit premature to fully review but Im still curious, as its one of the few APs for 2e where the story/themes really grab me shaun-makes 15 hr. The bosses were well done and relatively difficult, but there was some clunkiness with being able to split-second dodge, which is to be expected with charge abilities. While this thread is up, Id love to hear reviews of gatewalkers from anyone whos played through a bit and read through both parts published so far. My friend is on the west coast US and I am on east, but it wasn't a giant lag amount. Same with being able to play across regions. It's pretty well beaten down at this point in other discussions, but the ability to make a new character also would have been nice. The only issue I ran into is lack of sulfur once you run out, which means a lot more farming in the toxic world when it's available, same with snow in the ice world, and, lacking that, I would have loved to have seen a way to reset skill trees so I could pick a different path, but I'm assuming that will come with the early access. I ended up playing a little bit longer to try out some of the other weapons, which required more farming of materials. ![]() In a world plunged into chaos, a mysterious relic has been found - the Gate through which you can travel to other worlds. ![]() For some unknown reason, plants and animals began to die, and so did people. My friend and I completed the available alpha quests and did a bit of farming to finish out the last dungeon. Gatewalkers blends hack-and-slash mechanics with action RPG and survival elements, creating a one-of-a-kind combination.
